Abengoa Bioenergía Nuevas Tecnologías (ABNT) began its operations in 2003 with the purpose of positioning Abengoa Bioenergy as the leading innovator in the Bioenergy industry, through the development of innovating technological processes for the production of biofuels, specially bioethanol and its co-products.

ABNT's team of engineers and scientists together with other R&D centers, universities and industrial partners, develops innovative processes in order to increase the bioethanol yield in dry mills, improve the quality of co-products, develop new co-products and develop biomass technology for the production of ethanol and co-products.

ABNT is a company whose business is the R&D&i, assuming the main role of the development of R&D activities in Abengoa Bioenergía, launching projects and initiatives that allow meeting the company’s objectives.

The difference between ABNT and other companies of the sector lays on Sustainability. The achievement of our strategic objectives is based on the idea of not compromising the capacity of future generations to satisfy their own needs. Therefore, innovative solutions are developed to allow facing with guarantees current Sustainability requirements, providing support to Abengoa Bioenergía through the conceptual development and tool management.

As part of our business strategy, ABNT will develop and register the Intellectual Property to provide technology to third parties under management agreements.
